AN UPDATE: PRIVATE PARTIES, THE PATRIARCHY, INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, BARCELONA, AND MORE
back here for a minute and damn its been a while.... have been busy and had some commisioned texts to write so i neglected the freudian slip dress.........lesson learned the longer you stay away from ur blog the harder it gets to write the next post. not bcs i dunno what to write about, but cus there's too much to write about. gonna do a recap on some random things to get back on track... BTW did u know this blog has a comment section?? anyways
since last i have
- GONE TO A PRIVATE PARTY. booth bitches like me rarely gets invited to stuff like this cus well... its dinners, the club and the afters in my friend group lol. i usually dread these kind of places a lil bit cus i dont do alcohol, but the party was a lot of fun, though it had a sign at the door telling u to take off ur shoes. rude. even though i have mad respect for ppl throwing private parties in cph where ur neighboors will literally try and have you kicked out of the building for playing music, i had to politely ignore the sign, cus i was wearing a tracksuit with high heels. u gotta stay glam. music was good and the indie sleaze was thriving and i was living my best private party life talking to strangers, dancing in the livingroom and hanging in the kitchen, when a girl i had never met before walked up to me. she stuck her finger up my nose, started to clean it while saying something about how she felt super awkward being a brown person in a room full of white ppl talking to her about racism and feeling sorry for her, but that she could feel my vibe was different cus my nose was cluttered (the halo, the margarita rim, u name it) and my vibe seemed fun lol. she was fab and we had a cute time. we went out to in the hallway to reclaim her stilettos that she had been forced to take off. the stilettos had the yin yang sign on them. what a slay haha! the party was shut down not long after, and I went to the club with my boo, met up with some friends and spent a lovely afternoon in the sun. spring is coming!
- GONE TO REFSHALEØEN. it always makes me mad to walk there so i go very rarely... it used to be open and fabulous and now everything is a private area. had to climb two fences just to go on my regular walk. involuntary urbexing. and natural wine and toast everywhere. just like refhalseøen, toast also used to be a commodity for all. but now it's in the natural wine family and when u see a toast on the menu in ur neighbourhood u know ur rent is about to go up.
- PARTIED WITH THE PATRIARCHY. had been in the countryside, and after a 4,5 hour train ride i arrived happy and refreshed back in cph late evening and met up with two friends, went to soho house, picked up some other friends and went to the club... the particular party we went to that night is a classic, it has been running for years. when I was working as a bouncer at the club back in the day I would often pick for them and the line used to be insanely long. this time 5 years later was no excuse. place was buzzing and packed and the vibe was fresh. throwing club nights is exhausting and i'm impressed when collectives are able to sustain like this. fab. I heard some really iconic house sets that night. over the DJ booth they had hung the"WE DON'T PARTY WITH THE PATRIARCHY" banner which was a slogan i made for club mafia five years ago, when I was a young knife ready to BASH BACK. back then men scared me so I hated them and today I just sip on my virgin cosmo, wishing men the best of luck with the few pieces they have gotten in this big puzzle called life. i genuinely think its cute that they use the slogan but also ironic due to it's origin, cus the dancefloor was masc af, flooded with circuit gays and harnesses. it's all love though. i don't own anything and whats intellectual property? words are for everyone and they should be claimed and reclaimed. the hypermasc floor was a VIBE tho!! I was partying WITH the patriarchy that night and it was fabolous. in a trendforecast i got cancelled for a few years ago due to stating that being woke was OUT, i also wrote: masculinity OUT - hyper masculinity IN !!
- HAD A COLLAB WITH WOOD WOOD. gonna get into that some other day, but it's printed tees and painted jeans. the collection is iconic and everything is handmade by me (with help from my friends) and u can buy it right now in the wood wood shop in grønnegade... prices are okay btw, made them agree to cheaper prices on the collection since my main audience are broke bitches like myself...
- GONE TO BARCALONA for the first time and it was GLAM. went to a all the churches and temples, a tivoli on a mountian, a soundsystem party, met some catalonians who introduced me to "machina" which is a catalonian hardstyle genre, and had dinner at rosalia's favorite restaurant. Gaudi architecture was super gay but fresh, it triggered some trypophobia in me tho (fear of holes, kendall jenner says she has it too). Gaudi was the hottest architect of the city, but he died kinda young cus he got hit by a fucking tram and then bcs he looked like a poor man no one helped him. if ur rich dress the f* up. dressing down can get u killed even if ur Gaudi...
- MISSED A PLAIN and spent a night in amsterdam
- BEEN IN THE OPERA again. am larping this old money fantasy. heard mozart. again. lol. a fangirl is in formation.
- NOT REALLY HAD AN OPINION ON BALENCIAGAs new collection even tho many have asked me. like i already wrote earlier, i think it's a smart move coming out of a shitstorm being all about the craft, when the rest of the IG fashion scene has fully lobotomised itself with red boots and funky prints. but when their collection looks pretty much like their past collections before the cancellation, were the other collections then just poorly crafted popcultural references? i couldn't help but wonder lol..
- BEEN IN THE COUNTRYSIDE A LOT. made a promise to myself when i moved back to cph to get out of the city at least one time a month. went to a summerhouse with friends and did all the damn things: baking, winter swimming, puzzles and party games. fab. also went to visit my parents in the woods and my dad advised me to start exercising and read some books. since then i have read half a book and walked instead of taking the metro a few times. i'm a work in progress.
- HAD AMALIE SZIGETHY WEARING MY SHIT in ELLE magazine LOL. i bow to this reality royalty. she wore the INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, RECLAIM PROBLEMATIC & CIAO BELLA SKY HIGH top.... icon.
ciao for now
xx
