american psycho and cphfw
WORDS ARE TRENDING: A word is worth a thousand pictures!
fashion week has come to an end here in cph, and i just read american psycho. its a thick ass book but its a good one. watched the movie last night it got nothing on the book really. i found the book to be a masterpiece hot take on postmodern yuppie culture(takes one to know one!!) where the killings are metaphors for a culture thats fucked and the movie is just a vague representation of a killer. I do love the all the business card scenes in the movie. Like i wrote somewhere on this blog i have unpurposely started a collection of off-white thick embossed serif font business cards from rich men and in the movie u see why. anyways in the book patrick bateman describes every character's outfit when he sees them. he sees the look before the person. can u relate??? “Price is wearing a six-button wool and silk suit by Ermenegildo Zegna, a cotton shirt with French cuffs by Ike Behar, a Ralph Lauren silk tie and leather wing tips by Fratelli Rossetti”.... the characters are representations of empty suits walking around. i know the suits at cphfw most likely have fab ppl in them but going from show to show and seeing so much money and anticipation blow up in 10 mins will drain even the most soulful soul. blame the industry not the fashion lover tho, most of them are just nerds with a passion... most things you attend at a fashion week were not made to be experienced first hand. its all made for pictures and physically attending a space that has been build only to come alive online is a weird and very unmonumental feeling... so much work and probably tears to create a MOMENT online?... we live in a world of pictures and they have ALL been done. every image exists but ppl are sleepless to create the next. oh and wasn't ai also created for this? and i think words are important now. anybody who dares to write them have my attention. one word is worth a thousand pictures! however, sometimes fashion moments happen in real life and my dear friend masculina put on the cuntiest show ON A DIME that i will never forget..... please dont give the fashion industry to much money they will just spend it on plastic sculptures to toss out the next day and giant cakes that nobody eats.... i love fashion and its full of fab and creative ppl but the urgency for a moment makes hard work fall flat.
