WEEKEND REVIEW: the log lady and more

its monday morning and im on my porch in xtania writing this cus the suns outand so are the tourists... am working on my exhibition/popup at Copenhagen Contemporary. it's running for two months and the opening is on the 7th of march and you should come <3 save the date! ANYWAYS wanted to write a lil on the blog too and give u a review on this copenhagen weekend

this weekend was giving varité so what happened? i don't really club atm so weekends start earlier, feels longer even tho they end faster

thursday? did a vultures listening party at månefiskeren. there are some bangers on that album. did u check out ye's news channel? its sort of fab. its random news with rennaissance paintings. yews.news.  went to a gorgeous communal dinner in xtania. high ceilings, live music, all ages and vegan food. nothing annoying about this. then i went to an opening at palace enterprise in the inner city with a sculpture all star-stress. beer was served in small glasses. sculptures were in steel and glass mostly. no gen z's found here. went to the log lady afterwards. its the cutest bar. i started experimenting with alcohol lately so had a pink cosmo. at first sip this place looks like ur 2011 pinterest page, but when u look closer u realise how this place was a pioneer of this aesthetic. proper indie!!! but not in the sleazy way. photo walls with naked women in b/w everywhere. pen drawings of animals with graphic lines. this became the trend in the early 2010's and ppl would sit and draw dots and lines from pinterest. the geometric (diy) art trend. triangular tattoos and circles and squares. ppl were gagging for the graphic line. deers and foxes everywhere. in band names and on the walls. antlers, tree stumps as tables. anyways this bar just celebrated it's 13 years b-day. it feels vintage even 13 years is not long, but in nightlife it sort of is. i mean ur up and against endless noise complaints and gentrification. the log lady is a gourgeous time capsule. the owner told me that nothing but the plants has been changed for the last 13 years. djuna barnes had curated to photo-wall. and when u look closer it really shows, that this bar was the frontrunner an aesthetic that would later turn in to moustaches in plastic. the interior is wisely curated and a gourgeous glimpse of this fab post-financial crisis era. walked back to xtania in the moonlight and felt indie.

friday? sat in a editing suite with a music video for 9 hours and when i got out i couldn't even remember my own name. picked up packages from vinted and nothing fit me and some of it i didn't even remember buying...maybe i'm quitting this app even though i luv looking through closet's of polish women. anyways i went to månefiskeren, we had a dub event there on a small but really good sound system. a lot of friends came, we had the glamour cocoa and got wonky. they all went to the club after. i had an identity crisis and went to overgaden in stead for a double opening afterparty. had low expectations. but the party turned out to be my fave party of 2024. the dj turned it the f out on the decks, ppl were fab, vibe was lit. there are good openings in cph, but fun openings are rare!

saturday? omg i was in the inner city running errands and i met the most fab flash mob group. more on this later. talked to my friend in lissabon on the phone for hours and later i met up with some friends in a bar. one of them ordered a vodka shot with ice to sip on. what i stylish choice, i will copy that on my alcohol journey. we went out to a new little club thats not so new any more. my fave dj had already played when we came. they dont announce timetables before, cus they want ppl to show up for the whole experience rather than coming for ur fave dj. impractical if thats what u want xD but also kinda fab. a few live concerts, one was a guy with a guitar and autotune. it was giving x-facor bootcamp for me, dont know if thats good or bad. i met a person wearing a t-shirt that said: EX Bisexual. gag! i invited them out for coffee. last dj-set was cute. floor was untrained but fun. when he played bailefunk the vibe shifted and it got hot for a minute... on the way home from the club i saw that the club next to it had been demolished. it has closed due to noise complaints AGAIN. the inside interior of the club was laying in their yard that they used to use for open air partys. it was like looking at a club inside out. a club that had taken so much time and effort to build and now was torn apart due to neighboors that really should just move to the suburbs in stead of trying to turn the city into it.... its cph ppl. enjoy ur club while u got it cus gentrification is coming for it. 

sunday? i spent moving for my friend who is moving out of an appartment that a lot of us have been living in through times. its iconic and trashy and no appartments look like this anymore. i lived there from 2018-2021 and a lot of shit went down here. the appartment is being sold now. its the end of an era!
